Head Start San Joaquin, a program of the San Joaquin County Office of Education, is now accepting applications in Escalon.

The program provides quality early education services for children from birth to age 5, features a highly qualified teaching staff, serves healthy meals for students, offers services for pregnant women and their families and provides support services to families as they prepare for their child for school.

The Child Abuse Prevention Council Head Start at the Dent Elementary School campus, 1998 Yosemite Ave., Escalon, will take applications from noon to 3:30 p.m. on the next three Fridays, Oct. 14, 21 and 28.

Documents needed to complete the application are birth certificate/proof of birth, family income (prior 12 months or calendar year) such as a 1040 Tax form, W-2, check stubs, SSI, TANF, etc.

Also, a physical exam, immunizations and medical insurance, if available; an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), if applicable. Families of children with special needs are encouraged to complete an application as well.
