Election Ballot Taking Shape

The Statewide Primary Election is coming up on Tuesday, June 3 and there will be some races of interest for San Joaquin County, including those residents in Escalon and Farmington.

In the 10th Congressional District, incumbent Republican Jeff Denham is on the ballot with Democratic candidates Michael J. Barkley and Michael Eggman.

Incumbent Assemblymember Kristin Olsen, Republican, in the 12th Assembly District, is on the ballot along with Democrat Harinder Grewal.

In the race for County Superintendent of Schools, James Mousalimas, Jeff Tilton and Michael Gillespie are all on the ballot.

Escalon and Farmington are both in the Fourth District for the county Board of Supervisors and candidates for that post are retired CHP Commander Charles ‘Chuck’ Winn, business owner Russ Munson and retired County Administrator Manuel Lopez. Seeking the District Attorney post are Tori Verber Salazar, a gang homicide prosecutor, and Gary Hickey, attorney at law.

Incumbent sheriff Steve Moore is on the ballot along with sheriff’s deputy Sgt. Pat Withrow, both seeking the San Joaquin County Sheriff-Coroner position.
