Deputies Investigating Monday Night Homicide

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the 9500 block of Victory about 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 27 to a reported domestic violence incident – one that had deadly consequences.

Authorities said the incident occurred in an unincorporated area of Stanislaus County near Escalon and a woman was reportedly killed during the incident. A man was subsequently arrested by deputies after driving his truck into a canal in the area. The sheriff’s dive team was called in to respond as well.

Not much additional information was available at presstime on Tuesday – authorities said the case was still under investigation and the name of the victim and the suspect had not yet been released.

The case is being treated as a homicide.
