Science projects were on display and science experiments were set up for all to enjoy at the annual Dent Elementary Science Night on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Staged in the cafeteria, coordinator Wendy Merseth said the event has been going on for a decade now. They utilize the STEAM concept of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math for the event, with several different stations. Activities ranged from lid tower bridges to origami to measuring the distance between ‘planets’ on a chart.

“It’s making science fun,” said Merseth, who said the turnout was great and the support of staff and volunteers to organize and host the various stations was invaluable.

In past years, the school has rotated the Life, Physical and Earth science themes but now encompass them all into one.

“It’s designed for kindergarten through fifth grade,” Merseth said. “But families come and everyone enjoys it.”
