Welcome Home Heroes Foundation is hosting a special Patriots Day Blues and Food Truck Festival in Tuolumne on Sunday, Sept. 10. Escalon Covenant Church will be hosting a 13-week Support Group to help encourage anyone who has experienced the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. The local REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club gathers for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. The Escalon Community Center, 1055 Escalon Ave., will be the host site for the next gathering of the Good Time Accordion Club, set for Wednesday, Sept. 13, featuring both music and a social time. The session starts at 7 p.m. and accordion fans and performers of all skill levels are welcome. Admission is $5 at the door. Special guest performer for the Sept. 13 gathering will be Roberto Rosa. Sail to Recovery will be offered on Saturday, Sept. 23; it’s a program of the local American Veterans First organization. Sail to Recovery will run from noon to 5 p.m. at the Stockton Sailing Club, 4980 Buckley Cove Way in Stockton. Registration is being accepted now and volunteers with boats are being sought; you can volunteer your boat and register as a skipper. The Escalon Historical Society is hosting a bus trip to Black Oak Casino in October. Date for the trip is Saturday, Oct. 14 and the cost is $26 per person, which also includes $10 free play, $5 match play and a food discount. Members of the El Portal Parents Club are planning for their third annual Casino Night on Friday, Sept. 29. This will be the club’s one and only fundraiser of the year and proceeds fund enrichment opportunities and educational needs for the middle school. The 11th Annual Dinner/Dance/Auction in honor of Grant and Jason Arnold, both of whom were tremendous local athletes, is set for Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Escalon Sportsman’s Club on River Road. Cocktails will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by dancing to the sounds of Soul Heart until midnight. Tickets are $50 per person; open bar. The annual Boutique and Luncheon hosted by the Farmington United Methodist Women is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 25626 E. Elm St., Farmington.
