The next Accordion Music and Social for the Good Time Accordion Club will be hosted on Wednesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Escalon Community Center, 1055 Escalon Ave., Escalon. Accordion fans and performers of all skill levels welcome. Admission is $5 at the door. For more information, contact Karl Wucherer at 209-556-3105. Special guest performers this month will be the Funstrummers Ukulele Band.

Escalon Wrestling Club will be hosting its 12th annual Rib and Oyster Dinner and Dance, set for Saturday, April 22 at the Escalon Community Center. Donations are being sought, both monetary donations and items that can be used at the silent auction. If you have an item to donate for the silent auction, it can be picked up or mailed in; contact Derek Scott at 209-499-3941 to arrange the pick up or for more information on mailing the item in. Tickets for the April 22 dinner and dance are available for $40 per person.

Join in each week with the local REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, April 19. San Joaquin County Senior Awareness Day has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 24 this year. Events will be hosted at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds and run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Theme for the day will be the Fabulous 50’s and there will be food, entertainment, a classic car show, wellness walk, senior art show, Bingo, a variety of exhibitors and more, in addition to multiple fun giveaways. Escalon city officials are asking those planning to attend to call Escalon City Hall at 209-691-7410; leave your name, how many in your party and a contact phone number.

Join the Escalon Historical Society on a fundraising trip to Lodi aboard Amtrak. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 4 and the train departs from Modesto’s Amtrak Station at 1700 Held Drive at 9:36 a.m. The train returns at 5:48 a.m. with a scheduled time of 6:39 p.m. to be back at the Modesto station. Cost is $30 per person. All are welcome to attend, join in for a great day in Lodi. Come out for the train ride, then enjoy restaurants, shopping, wine, cheese and a lot of fun with the society as a fundraiser for the local museum. Docents lead tours and assist with McHenry Mansion Foundation fundraising efforts. Combine your existing talents with their free training. Knights Ferry History Museum and Associates have joined with the Army Corps of Engineers to host the 27th Annual Gold Country Peddlers Faire on Sunday, April 23. The event will be hosted at the Stanislaus River Park, on Covered Bridge Road, Knights Ferry, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A large selection of antiques, handmade crafts and art, as well as food booths will be on hand.
