As part of Youth Arts Month, the public is invited to visit the Student Art Showcase March 1 through March 30, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, at the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE - 1100 H Street, 2nd floor). The Student Art Showcase features student work from preschool to advanced high school students across Region 6. The Stanislaus County Office of Education, SCOE, is at 1100 H St., on the second floor in Modesto.
Region 6 includes Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties.
In addition to the month long display, students, parents, educators and the Region 6 arts community are invited to attend an evening reception to celebrate Youth Arts Month and the Student Art Showcase on Monday, March 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at SCOE. The reception will include a tour of the exhibit along with student performances from local schools.
According to organizers, the goal of the Student Art Showcase is to provide an equitable opportunity to showcase student artwork from Region 6.
“One of the most important aspects of creating is sharing what you create,” said Amy Zschaber, Visual and Performing Arts and STEAM Coordinator at SCOE. “The Student Art Showcase gives students the unique opportunity to share what they create with the community; it allows students to see the impact of their art on both themselves and others.”
Contact Amy Zschaber azschaber@stancoe.org or Helen Markiss hmarkiss@stancoe.org in Instructional Support Services for additional information about the display.
