COOKIE CRUMBLES
chips 1

It was a fun experiment in science and cookies. A Saturday Science event hosted at the Escalon Library saw youngsters earning ‘cookie cash’ by mining out pieces of or whole chocolate chips from the cookies. They could hang on to the money or purchase more cookies, to mine out more chips and earn more cash. Top photo, Holly Wright, 11, focuses on her work extracting the chips while, at side, Lola Duenas, 6, counts out some money for more cookies, accompanied by Nina Duenas, 4. Kids had to use math to calculate their earnings. Isabella Grant, 8, was the big winner with $10,900 in cookie cash. Her prize: a box of cookies to take home and eat.
