The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing to begin an improvement project on State Route 120 (SR-120) that will repave the section of the highway from Vasconcellos Road to a tenth of a mile west of Escalon-Bellota Road/McHenry Avenue. This project will improve efficiency and safety for motorists traveling in San Joaquin County.

Work is scheduled to begin Sunday, April 24 and be completed by July, 2016.

Motorists should expect 20 minute delays. Detour routes will be marked to guide motorists. Work is scheduled to be done mostly at night, Sunday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

This $4 million project has been awarded to Bay Cities Paving and Grading, Inc.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
