Local senior citizens have the opportunity to attend a couple of health care events this month.

On Saturday, Oct. 15 there will be a Medicare Health Fair Event sponsored by University of the Pacific in Stockton.

Health services provided at the event at no cost include: Review of your Medicare Part D Plan to see if we can lower your costs; review of your drugs to ensure they are safe to take together; health screenings and services including flu vaccine, blood pressure, bone density, cholesterol, diabetes, risk for falls, mental health, asthma, and much more. For more information, visit go.pacific.edu/medicare or call (209) 910-3784.

Also, a reminder that it’s time for seniors to do an Annual Part D Check-up because plans change the list of drugs they cover every year and over eight out of 10 beneficiaries have been able to save money on their Part D drug costs with our help.

A two-day event will feature free dental care, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16 at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds in Stockton. Open both days at 8 a.m., services are offered on a first come, first served basis.

The California Dental Association (CDA Cares) allows volunteer dentists, with the assistance of other health professionals and community volunteers, to provide dental services at no charge to approximately 2,000 people at each bi-annual event. Along with area seniors, this event is also open to the general public.
