ehs

The Escalon High School and El Portal Middle School Band Boosters organizations are planning their annual Trivia Bee for Saturday, Jan. 28 in the high school’s Performing Arts Center.

This year will be the10th annual Bee and the theme this year will be “Disney …”

Each year, the annual Band Trivia Bee and Dinner has helped raise money for music, competition trips, uniforms, band supplies and scholarships.

Teams are being sought, with teams of three needed, either three students or one adult with two students. The competing students must be in fifth grade through 12th grade. The entry fee for each team is $150 and sponsors are also being sought for teams. Sponsorship includes dinner for all three team members.

A pasta dinner catered by D’Boni’s will be served starting at 6 p.m. and the Trivia Bee will begin at 7 p.m.

All in the community are encouraged to attend the dinner and enjoy the competition afterward; dinner tickets are $10 each. Checks can be made payable to either Escalon High Band Boosters or El Portal Band Boosters and the groups are non-profit, with a tax ID number available.

Sponsors of teams can have their business name included in the advertising program for the evening. Sponsorships must be in by Wednesday, Jan. 25. Dinner tickets must be purchased by Friday, Jan. 20.

Donations are also being sought for both a raffle and silent auction that will be hosted as part of the evening.
