American Legion Post Hosts Memorial Services

Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 28 and members of the Escalon American Legion, Gustafson Thompson Post, will be presenting special services at multiple locations during that day.

The main service will be at Burwood Cemetery, along River Road, beginning at 10 a.m. on May 28. There will be a guest speaker, flag ceremony, the laying of a memorial wreath, the firing squad salute and the playing of Taps.

Following the service at Burwood, Legion members will travel to several other sites around the Escalon-Farmington-Oakdale area to present programs.

At 11 a.m., the service will be hosted at St. John’s Cemetery adjacent to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, corner of Highway 120 and Carrolton Road. At noon, a service is planned at the Farmington Memorial Park along Escalon-Bellota Road and the series of four Memorial Day services will wrap up at 1:30 p.m. with a program at Valley Home Memorial Park along Valley Home Road.
