An Open House at the Escalon Animal Shelter on Saturday also included a special adoption day event and encouraged people to visit the shelter with their animals for a ‘play day’ and a barbecue. At side, staff member Justin Olvera grills up some hot dogs for visitors and the shelter staff and volunteers to enjoy. Also on hand for the event were Escalon High School freshmen Rachel Lau and Briana Briones-Chavarria, who volunteer at the shelter.
