Youngsters in the six- and seven-year-old age division for the City of Escalon’s recreational basketball program take the court early Saturday morning, Feb. 8. The annual program has Escalon High School basketball players serving as refs and helpers, with volunteer coaches guiding the young hoopsters. Both the old gym on the Escalon High School campus and the gym at El Portal are used for the Saturday program over the course of several weeks in the winter.
