Grand Opening Slated For Knights Ferry Art Studio
KF ARTS LOGO

Join in with the Knights Ferry Art Studio & Gallery, Oakdale Chamber of Commerce and the Knights Ferry Historical Society on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. for a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in historic Miller’s Hall in Knights Ferry.

This event will have a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained. Randy Mandy & The Frequency Experience will host an open mic along with poetry readings and dance performances.

Knights Ferry Art Studio & Gallery is more than just a space for showcasing art. It is a hub for creativity and community involvement. Oakdale native Taylar Mason, the gallery’s owner, has provided a platform for local artists to showcase their work and has taken steps to give back to the community. The gallery has hosted various art classes, events, and outreach programs that have brought people together and fostered a love for the arts.

The gallery opened its doors in April 2023 and has already had a significant impact on the community by providing a space for art-making and a fine art gallery. With two solo and two group exhibitions, the gallery has showcased works of local and visiting artists of all ages. The gallery’s contribution to the community extends well beyond its walls; it has organized over 30 art classes led by guest artists, kid-friendly art events, and has implemented and co-hosted programs with the Knights Ferry Elementary School, Knights Ferry Music Festival, Sheather Fest, and an Environmental Arts Education Program. The gallery also offers a home-school arts program, river trail clean-ups and a community garden next door.

Mark your calendars for the 2023 Stanislaus Artist Open Studio, happening the same weekend, where the gallery will participate in two days of celebrating creativity and community spirit.

“Knights Ferry Art Studio & Gallery’s mission is to engage the community in creative expression, explore mixed media, and empower artists,” Mason said. “I am astonished by the exponential growth of the gallery solely through participation from our local artists and community.”
