California Fire Safe Council (CFSC) announced recently that it has begun a search for an Executor Director following the departure of current Executive Director Tracy Katelman.

“We appreciate all of the CFSC expansion work Tracy achieved working with CFSC staff and the Board during her tenure, and wish her the very best in the future,” said Ruben Grijalva, Chairman of the Board.

Larry Davis, a former Schwarzenegger administration appointee, has been chosen to serve as Interim Executive Director during the search for a permanent Executive Director.

“Larry brings a tremendous background in grant management, financial expertise, growth and development, and leadership needs as CFSC grows statewide,” Grijalva said. “He has handled significant grant responsibilities in his work at the California Office of Homeland Security and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. His expertise in stewardship and development is welcomed by the CFSC Board and staff.”

The California Fire Safe Council has been mobilizing Californians to protect their homes, communities and environments from wildfires for over 25 years. Working with local California Fire Safe Councils, fire departments, community associations and homeowners, CFSC has provided more than 900 grants totaling more than $100 million dollars since incorporating in 2004. CFSC has a deep history of providing capacity building and technical assistance to the more than 150 local Fire Safe Councils in California, and in facilitating cross-sectoral investments in wildfire resilience.
