Fire Department Slates Christmas Tree Pick-Up
esc fire

An annual service to the community, members of the Escalon Fire Department will be out early Saturday morning for the Christmas tree pick-up.

Offered within the city limits, fire crews will pick up those trees placed curbside, starting early Saturday, Jan. 8. Residents are asked to put the trees out in front of their homes on Friday night, Jan. 7. All ornaments and tinsel should be removed and the trees should also be taken out of their stands.

Officials remind residents to not place the tree where it will impede traffic or block access to an alley or fire hydrant. The pick-up will begin early Saturday and the department traditionally takes the trees to the local Lionudakis Firewood firm for chipping up and disposal.

There is no cost to residents for this program.
