The Fourth Annual FatherFest will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Victory Park in Stockton. Hosted by San Joaquin County Children’s Services, First 5 San Joaquin, Main Street Youth & Family Services, San Joaquin County Probation Department, and the Dear Dads Coalition, this free community event celebrates the vital role fathers and father figures play in the lives of their children and families. Victory Park is at 1001 N. Pershing Ave., Stockton.

FatherFest 2026 promises a fun-filled day featuring family-friendly activities including dad-and-kid games, live entertainment, and valuable community resources. Families are invited to come together to connect, celebrate, and learn more about the lasting impact of positive father involvement.

“This event highlights the powerful role fathers and father figures have in shaping strong, healthy families,” said Akkia Pride-Polk, Deputy Director of San Joaquin County Children’s Services. “We’re excited to bring the community together to celebrate dads and provide resources that support their success.”

FatherFest also kicks off San Joaquin County’s Father Appreciation Week which occurs the week leading up to Father’s Day, June 14 through June 20. The weeklong celebration will highlight the positive outcomes that result when dads are actively engaged in their children’s lives.

Research shows that when fathers are actively involved, children experience meaningful benefits, including:

Improved school readiness and stronger social skills;

Enhanced cognitive, verbal, and physical development;

Greater emotional security and resilience;

More positive long-term outcomes, including better decision-making and life success.

Highlights at the event will be a Kids Zone sponsored by Dignity Health, interactive games and activities with hands-on experiences for dads and kids, live music featuring performances from local talent and community resources information regarding organizations that support families and parenting.

The Dear Dads Coalition is a collaborative network of organizations committed to strengthening father engagement and highlighting the positive role dads play in children’s lives. Through events like FatherFest and ongoing outreach, the coalition works to build stronger families and healthier communities.
