A poem that was written one hundred and one years ago; how times and things change over the years. From "The History of Old 'Farmington by Ruth Hewitt and Aileen Groves". A little poem that was put out by the Farmington Board of Trade in 1910: The land where English walnuts grow, that is Farmington. It ain't no joke. Now don't be nutty; come and grow with Farmington. You can't go broke for Tokays grow their richest hue in Farmington. The prices tell! Cherries grow the brightest red in Farmington. That's something new. The town whose name will be soon be read, that's Farmington. For me and you. We irrigate our lands from wells in Farmington. We make things grow. But do not pay water tax as well in Farmington, like some I know. We get our power from gas and wire in Farmington-the cheapest way, now come and be a real 'live wire' in Farmington. Come and stay.
