For many middle school girls selected to attend Tech Trek, a week-long summer camp that focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), this experience may be their first time living in the dorm of a university campus, eating in the cafeteria, attending labs and classes, and learning what it might be like to be a college student. Each summer the Oakdale-Riverbank-Escalon Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) sends up to ten local girls to this unique camp held on the California State University, Fresno campus and every fall the campers are invited to attend the Branch’s September membership meeting to share their exciting adventures and highlights. This year is no exception.

In addition, Teri Curtis and Leah Silvestre-Franklin, Co-Vice Presidents, Program will preview programs planned for the upcoming year. Afterwards members and guests will enjoy lunch. The meeting scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to noon, will be held in a member’s back yard. Prospective members in the Oakdale, Riverbank, or Escalon area are invited to attend. They can call Judy at (209) 480-0387 for information, directions and to make reservations.
