Coming up at the end of October, the Escalon Educational Foundation will be putting on its popular Edible Expo event.
“This is our first year back since COVID, and is a ‘reboot’ of a fundraiser that was held from 2012 to 2016, and hosted for the first time by EEF in 2019,” noted April Adams, who has been involved with the event throughout its run.
When EEF hosted it in 2019, it was classified as a tremendous success and Adams said the Expo has been attended by roughly 300 guests each year it has been put on.
Now in its second year with EEF as the sponsoring organization, Adams and Kaity French – who also work together on the EEF Color Run – are busy lining up vendors for the Oct. 28 Edible Expo.
It is being billed as an opportunity to ‘Eat, Drink and Have a Ball’ and will be hosted at the Escalon Community Center starting at 6 p.m., continuing through 11 p.m.
Tickets are $50 per individual, over 21 only, and a reserved seating table for eight is $450.
The food and beverage tasting event has seen a wide variety of offerings in the past, everything from pizza and ravioli to steak bites, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options.
Proceeds of the fundraiser help the EEF to donate funds to each of the schools in the Escalon Unified School District for items such as field trip expenses, extracurricular classroom supplies, as well as scholarships for senior students.
Attendees are able to walk around and socialize while sampling the foods, desserts and beverages; the event also includes music and dancing, raffle drawings and live and silent auctions.
