Escalon American Legion Post hosting ‘Family Play Day’
American Legion

Open to all in the community, members of the Escalon American Legion Post are getting ready to host a ‘Family Play Day’ on Saturday. The April 20 festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Legion Hall, 1531 Second St., Escalon.

“Our Legion is in need of new members,” noted veteran and Post Adjutant Fallon Nunes. “We are trying different ways to get more folks to come on down and see what we are about.”

This ‘fun day’ for the whole family is one way the Post is looking to introduce their current members to local residents, explain more about what the Post does and showcase its various activities in the community.

Escalon’s American Legion is the Gustafson-Thompson Post 263. Nunes said Saturday’s activities will include a variety of games for families with children of all ages, a free lunch, fun and more.

A flyer from the Legion indicates what to bring: Your appetite and friends.

Nunes can be contacted at 209-484-3641 for more information.

It is open to all in the community and surrounding areas, as Nunes said they want to reach out throughout the region and draw in potential new members.
