Escalon will feature a four-way race for three available seats on the Escalon City Council in November, with two incumbents and two challengers running.

Look for council candidate profiles in the Oct. 27 issue of The Times, featuring incumbents Ed Alves and Danny Fox and newcomers Robert Swift and Kurt Danziger. Outgoing Mayor Walt Murken is not seeking reelection.

The four will also have a chance to meet the public on Wednesday night, Oct. 27, in a candidate forum being sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Hours for the event are 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and each candidate will have an opportunity to introduce themselves as well as offering a bit of their background. The candidate forum will be staged in the Ekholm Room of the Escalon Library on Second Street.

Each candidate will have the chance to address two questions they have been given in advance and questions will then be given from the floor as time allows, submitted by the community and audience.

If you have questions you want to ask the candidates, send them to the Escalon Chamber, P.O. Box 222, Escalon, CA 95320 by Friday, Oct. 22 so that the committee has time to review the questions. Similar questions will be combined.

The three council posts are all for four-year terms. The three candidates receiving the most votes in the Nov. 2 election will win the seats.
