Daylight Saving Time Ends On Sunday

Don’t forget to ‘fall back’ Saturday night before you go to bed.

Daylight Saving Time officially comes to an end at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 so residents are reminded to set their clocks back one hour on Saturday night. The Daylight Saving Time mode has been in effect since March 14, when we set the clocks one hour ahead. That gave us more light longer in the day during the warm late spring and throughout the summer months.

Now, darkness will arrive sooner and many people will likely be driving home from work in the dark.

While most states across the U.S. observe the twice a year changing of the clock, Hawaii and Arizona do not; those states do not observe Daylight Saving Time.

While the official start to standard time is at 2 a.m., when the clocks drop back to 1 a.m., most people prefer to set the clocks back before getting in to bed, insuring they get that extra hour of sleep and won’t have to get up in the middle of the night to re-set the clocks.
