Several cases handled by local police over the past week resulted in arrests.
On Thursday, Aug. 14, officers made contact with a 24-year-old Escalon woman about 8:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of Fourth Street. Officers knew the woman had a misdemeanor traffic warrant and she was cited and released on the $25,000 warrant for driving on a suspended license.
Also on Aug. 14, officers responded to the 1700 block of Gwendolyn about 6:30 p.m. for a civil stand by at a residence. They discovered a 25-year-old woman out of Cameron Park had a $5,000 bail misdemeanor Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department warrant for driving on a suspended license. She was also cited on the warrant and released.
A pair of arrests were made in a case stemming from Monday, Aug. 11 just after 2:15 p.m.
Police said they responded to the 2200 block of Jackson on a call of a suspicious subject and found a 32-year-old Escalon man in the area with two warrants, one out of the Manteca Police Department for petty theft with a $15,000 bail and one for $20,000 bail out of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department for driving on a suspended license. He was booked at San Joaquin County Jail on the two warrants. A subject with him, in a vehicle, was found to be searchable and officers conducted a probation search of the vehicle. That ultimately resulted in the arrest of Aaron Pombo, 27, of Escalon on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and possession of personal identifying information with intent to defraud. He was also booked at county jail.
In a case about 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 11, officers were called to the 1700 block of Gwendolyn on a report of a possible domestic dispute/physical fight in the area. After an investigation, police took a 30-year-old Riverbank man into custody on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on spouse or co-habitant. He was booked at county jail.
