County Transit System Assists With Evacuations
SJ RTD

In response to a call for assistance from the Officer of Emergency Services and local emergency responders, San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) swiftly deployed buses and personnel to assist in evacuating 64 people from Arbor Mobile Home in Acampo, between Sunday, Jan. 15 and Tuesday, Jan. 17. RTD Transportation and Safety and Security Team responded quickly with crews working together in near-freezing temperatures over consecutive shifts. All individuals were safely transported to the Lodi Grape Festival Grounds, where they received additional assistance from the Red Cross.

“I am proud of the RTD Team for responding swiftly to the call for assistance and working diligently under difficult conditions to ensure safe transport and a warm, comfortable environment for those in need,” said RTD CEO Alex Clifford. “Public transit is the first responder and RTD will always be ready to help provide reliable and swift transportation when evacuation help is needed.”
