County park work day on May 17
park work

Make time to give back to nature on Saturday, May 17 – participate in the Native Plant Trail and Village Work Day, hosted at Shumway Oak Grove Regional Park.

The work day begins with volunteers meeting at the Nature Center at 9 a.m.; bring your green thumb and join in, also bring small hand tools if you have them, labeled with your name and phone number. Wear closed-toed shoes and long pants and you can also bring a picnic lunch. No pets, please.

You can RSVP under “Events” on the Nature Center’s Facebook page or email oakgrovenaturecenter@gmail.com to get involved.

This is a way for volunteers to help keep the trails clean and inviting for visitors, helping with the upkeep of the San Joaquin County Parks system.

Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. After the workday, stay and visit the Nature Center, open from noon to 4 p.m.

The park is at 4520 W. Eight Mile Road, Stockton.
