Saturday Market Set
Funky Market 209 is an outdoor festival/event. This market has been in business since 2016 with the idea to create a platform for artisans, crafters, storefronts, businesses, non-profits, etc. to showcase their products, crafts and creations. Join in the fun at Kerr Park in Oakdale, 840 N. Stearns Road, on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Local vendors will offer home and garden items, clothing and fashion, as well as up cycled, repurposed, handcrafted, vintage items, non-profit, fundraising and informational booths. Classic cars, music, food and fun for the family.
Autumn Garden Tour
Oakdale Garden Club is hosting its second Autumn Garden Tour, set for Saturday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; tickets can be purchased for $25 at Morris Nursery in Riverbank, P&L Concrete and Nursery in Escalon, Westurf Nursery, Greenery, Park Greenhouse.
Featured will be five spectacular home gardens, many situated on the Stanislaus River. Proceeds from this event help the Garden Club in the many beautification efforts throughout the City of Oakdale. Relay For Life
The theme is “Wish Upon A Cure” and the place is John Thurman Field in Modesto, where teams from Modesto, Oakdale, Turlock and surrounding communities will join in for the 24-hour Relay For Life, Oct. 9 and 10. Proceeds from the event benefit research, education and patient services through the American Cancer Society. All are welcome to attend and see the many booths, teams and activities scheduled throughout the day. Opening Ceremony will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9. There was no local in-person Relay for 2020 due to COVID-19; teams are excited to be back on the track for 2021. This year the combined event is called Relay For Life of Greater Stanislaus County. Golf Tournament
The 15th annual Saron Lutheran Church Golf Tournament is Saturday, Oct. 9 at Jack Tone Golf Course. You can still sign up to golf or just attend and enjoy the luncheon plus take a look at the wide variety of silent auction items that will be on display.
