Residents who want to learn more about the four candidates seeking seats on the Escalon City Council will have that opportunity on Thursday night.

A Candidate Forum is set for Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m., being hosted at the Escalon Community Center.

There are three council seats available in the November election, each for a four-year term. Incumbents Andy Hagan, Malinda Walker and Jeremy Engle are all seeking reelection, and challenger Jason Perruquet is also in the running. These are at-large seats, so the three candidates polling the most votes in November will win the seats.

Some questions have been provided to the candidates ahead of time and there will also be impromptu questions posed to the panel at the forum.

A brief introduction of the candidates is planned; there will also be a moderator to ask the questions in addition to a timekeeper, as the candidate responses will be timed in order to provide an opportunity for each candidate to answer every question.
