Area Under Freeze Warning Through Early Monday
nws

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees are forecast for the region early Monday morning, Nov. 9.

National Weather Service forecasters are predicting the freezing temperatures for the eastern side of the Sacramento and Northern San Joaquin Valleys, the Northeast Foothills/Sacramento Valley and Motherlode Counties for elevations below 2000 feet.

The freeze warning is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday.

Impacts could include the frost and freeze conditions having the ability to kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Residents are advised to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
