As the holidays start to approach, so, too do the various holiday markets for the community.

This coming Saturday, Nov. 7, it’s the annual Kris Kringle Market, being hosted at Saron Lutheran Church, 1742 North St., Escalon.

Organizers said a unique feature this year is having three prizes available in raffle drawings, as opposed to the traditional one of past years. The popular quilt raffle remains, but there is also a framed wall hanging featuring the Twelve Days of Christmas theme and a third wall hanging, highlighting hearts and flowers in shades of purple and gold.

Hours for the holiday market are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there is also a chili and cornbread lunch available on site for a $7 donation.

People are encouraged to come and shop, then eat, or eat first and then check out the variety of items.

There will be homemade crafts from ornaments to holiday towels, baked goods, candy, jams and jellies, puzzles, book bags and more.

Raffle tickets for the quilt are one for $1, six for $5 or 25 for $20.

The third edition of the Saron Cookbook will be available for $15 and include favorite recipes from many of the church members, as well as a history of Saron Lutheran Church complete with pictures. There are over 150 recipes included.

The festive market helps raise funds to support the ministries of Saron Lutheran, including a portion of the proceeds going to the local food cupboard, C.A.R.E., Community Action Resources of Escalon.
