The fourth and final event of the summer season at Lucca Winery in Ripon will feature “The Women of Brazil” made up of some of the best Brazilian musicians in California. The show is set for Saturday, Sept. 10.

The musical group is fronted by Fabiana Passoni and Teka Penteriche. Both are experienced performers and recording artists and Passoni is extremely popular in Brazil and other countries. She has won numerous awards for her talents. Penteriche, more popularly known as Teka, not only has several credible CDs to her credit, she has recorded with many of the Brazilian greats like Gilberto Gil, Flora Purim and Airto Moreira.

To round out the ensemble, Ami Molinelli Hart plays percussion, Stephanie Ozer plays piano, Ruth Ahlers plays sax, Jorge Alabe also plays percussion and Randy Tico is on bass.

The summer concert series at Lucca has been presented in cooperation with John Griswold and Friends (JG&F), an association of friends who like to produce smaller intimate outdoor concerts simply because they love the music and are committed to it. JG&F have teamed up with Lucca Winery to bring together the summer series of great music, wine, food and art.

Tickets for the season finale and complete information is available at www.Red-Tie.org.

JG&F officials said they were pleased to find Lucca Winery to serve as a venue for their concerts. For many years, they noted, they were just “a rag-tag group of friend putting on concerts because we liked the music and the joy of seeing people have a great time.”

They have now become a non-profit organization with the goal of helping underprivileged children excel in the arts by providing assistance such as special grants, art supplies, dance shoes and musical instruments.
