Columbias Boo Boulevard Welcomes Halloween Visitors
PUMPKINS
A special Boo Boulevard event will be hosted in Columbia for Halloween, with all invited for an afternoon of fun, contests, candy and prizes on Saturday, Oct. 31. Photo Contributed

Friends of Columbia State Historic Park along with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Columbia State Historic Park will sponsor Boo Boulevard-Halloween in Columbia from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. A variety of activities will be available for children and adults.

During that time, the Columbia business owners, Columbia docents and park staff, and Sierra Outdoor School staff will partner to open more than 15 trick-or-treat stops for visitors dressed in Halloween costumes.

Quartz Mountain Stage Line will provide family friendly wagon rides through the decorated vacant Diggins Tent Town site from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for $5 a person. At 5:30 p.m., join author Carol Beiderman for a special Halloween-themed Ghost Tour through downtown Columbia. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.friendsofcolumbiashp.com.

Beginning at 4 p.m., visitors can also bring their carved pumpkins to the Columbia Museum at the center of town for the annual Illumination of the Jack-o-Lanterns. Prizes will be given for various categories. While waiting for dusk to see the pumpkins glow, take your picture in the photo booth or play historic games like graces, quiot and more. A costume contest will be held for children ages one to 12. Columbia is a great, safe place to bring your family off of the busy roads. Come join in the fun.
