Antique Fair Slated In Tuolumne
web 1

The Tuolumne Memorial Hall Antique Fair opens Saturday morning, Oct. 24 at 8 a.m. and is open both Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to through 3 p.m.

The first hour of the Antique Fair in Tuolumne on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., is a preview for those collectors who like to shop early. The preview costs $5, but after 9 a.m. Saturday the admission for the remainder of the Antique Fair is free.

Organizers said they are very lucky to have the use of the Memorial Hall building to house this collection of treasures. Using the Memorial Hall also allows them to hold the Fair over two days. There is also plenty of parking at the hall.

“Sales of antiques and vintage treasures at an Antique Fair like this one accomplishes a number of our community’s goals,” said fair spokeswoman Kristen Kestly. “And it’s hard to know which is the most important of these goals: recycling of unwanted items from one person to another who needs or wants it, helping families deal with family possessions in an estate sale, generating funds for a non-profit organization’s goals or simply providing income to a small group of people who specialize in reselling art and antiques.

“All of these contribute to the health of a small community. It must be clear that without an opportunity like this many household things would be destroyed, thrown away or otherwise disposed of. There is a large movement active in the United States to find creative re-use of antique and vintage household items so that they aren’t wasted.”

All are invited to come to the Memorial Hall Antique Fair and find some treasures to buy; you will be supporting people from the community in the reuse and recycling of good usable as well as valuable items.
