The final games in the 2019 Escalon Recreation Department Babe Ruth-Little League program were played on Saturday, May 18. Many teams took the field under the threat of rain but the wet weather held off until mid-afternoon.

Recreation Department officials noted there were more than three dozen total teams, across several divisions, taking part in the season. They ranged from the youngest co-ed Tee Ball teams, with players starting at four-years-old, up to a 14u girls division this year. Altogether, more than 400 young players enjoyed learning about the game.

For the most part, noted department spokesperson Bridget Gaines, the weather cooperated throughout the season, with few rainouts.
