Escalon Wrestling Club sign-ups are scheduled on Monday, Oct. 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at D’Boni’s Pizza in Escalon.

Open to ages 5 to 18, boys and girls, all skill levels welcome.

Fee of $60 includes a team shirt and SCWAY membership card; the fee increases to $75 after Nov. 8. Wrestling singlets can be purchased from Escalon Wrestling Club.

There are six former Division I and II wrestlers on staff. Club president Derek Scott is also the head wrestling coach at Escalon High School. He was an NCAA Division I All American and a Greco Roman National Champion.

Scott was also an AAU Freestyle National Champion and has been named TVL Coach of the Year 13 times.

Additional coaches include Dylan Furtado and Jonathon Costa, serving as head coaches for EWC. The former EHS standouts were both four year starters at San Francisco State; Furtado was an academic All-American, Costa was an NCAA Division II national qualifier.

EWC assistant coaches are Scott Page, Eric Rowe and Nate Nash. Page was a three-year Fresno State team member and a Greco Roman All American. Rowe was a three-year Cal State Bakersfield team member and two time state qualifier; Nash was a three-year Cal State Bakersfield team member, and a two-time Greco Roman state champion.
