Weather Washes Out Track, Field Schedule

They didn’t have a chance to get any competition in this week, but Escalon’s track and field kids “are great and working hard,” according to head coach Roger Beeman.

“Both meets last week were rain outs. Linden has rescheduled for March 23, and Calaveras is aiming for April 15. Hopefully they will work out. Those two are really important for the development of our freshmen and sophomores,” the coach noted.

The Cougars can only get on their home field for practices which, with the recent rainfall, is difficult and the facility isn’t in good enough shape to host any meets this season.

Weather permitting, the varsity team will go to the Trans-Valley League-Mother Lode League Challenge at Summerville on Thursday, March 17 and then travel to the Bella Vista Distance Carnival on Friday. The team is due for action on Tuesday, March 22 at Riverbank for the TVL Relays.
