Escalon junior Zachary Pickett advanced to the Masters track and field meet in Elk Grove on Thursday, competing for the Cougars in the 400 meters. He turned in a time of 53.91 in his final race of the season, falling short of the top 10. Other athletes in his event came from schools including Monterey Trail, Lodi, Granite Bay and fellow Trans-Valley League schools Hilmar and Mountain House.
