Escalon High graduate Collin Strasser suited up recently for the 41st annual Lions All-Star Football Game, the District 4-A1 contest that was staged at Wayne Schneider Stadium in Tracy.

The June 14 game ended in a 21-21 tie between the North and South squads, with Strasser playing for the North side. Head coach for the North team was Louis Franklin of Tokay High School in Lodi.

The football game is hosted as a District fundraising event for the Lions clubs in the 4-A1 district and also provides an opportunity for the area’s outstanding seniors to have one final time on the high school gridiron. A portion of the proceeds from tickets sales are retained by local clubs for use in their respective communities and in 2013, more than $384,000 was raised, benefiting 43 District Lions Clubs and a variety of charitable community projects.
