The sounds of football will fill the air in Escalon this weekend, as players from throughout the region suit up for the annual Wing T football camp.

Open to high school students entering ninth grade through their senior year, the camp is set for Friday through Sunday, June 11 through 13.

"This will be our 17th annual Golden State Wing T football camp," explained head football coach Mark Loureiro. "We feel it's a vital part of our program, it gives the kids a head start."

College coaches from such universities as Rutgers, Princeton, Westchester and the University of Delaware will be among the instructors for the intensive three-day camp, which will cover all aspects of the Wing T offense and also how to defend against it.

Cost for the camp is $150 per camper and instruction will run from roughly 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a half-day camp on Sunday. Loureiro will then travel with the Wing T camp instructional staff to assist with other clinics throughout the Northwest.
