Fitland Park Fete Run features local winners

There was a total of 27 finishers in the 10k race for the annual Park Fete Run, and 37 in the 5k, with both races hosted on Saturday morning, July 25. EscalonFit was the sponsoring organization and the runs were referred to as ‘Fitland’ with race day results and timing handled by On Your Mark events.

Escalon High alum Andrew Morales, 19, finished first in the 10k with a time of 33:54 for an average of 5:27 per mile. Juan Verduzco took second at 44:12 and Daniel Pearson was third in 44:37.

In the 5k, it was 16-year-old Coen Brimlow of Escalon crossing the finish line in 22:49 to take first place honors. He attends Beyer High School and runs for the Patriots. He averaged 7:20 per mile.

James Forkner was second in 23:38, Valente Ochoa was third in 24:12.

Oldest competitor in the race was Bob Tennent, who ran the 5k in 38:19, at 80 years old.
