It has been a season with many successes for Escalon’s softball girls, with a couple more wins going on the books this week.

Varsity head coach Jeff Borden said the JV and varsity joined forces for a 20-0 win over Weston Ranch on Wednesday, May 5.

“Tulsa Carnes and Madison Hagglund combined for a five-hit shutout,” Borden noted. “Every player scored at least one run. Madison Hagglund, Grace Spurgeon, Faye Hernandez, Tulsa Carnes and Ryilee McNulty all had multiple hit games.”

On Friday, the varsity put together an 8-4 win in Valley Oak League play against Sierra at home, moving to 12-1 on the campaign.

Mya Scott went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and Emily Vickers was 2-for-3 with four RBI to pace the offensive attack.

Brooke Davis got two hits and also notched her 12th win in the circle, striking out eight on the afternoon.

Malia Babasa, Macie Vickers and Bri Vazquez also contributed with hits.

“Outstanding outfield defense by Brooke Campbell and Bri Vazquez helped seal the game,” Borden said.

Friday, the team will honor its seniors before hosting Manteca in league play.

“We will celebrate the accomplishments and future of our five graduating seniors,” Borden said.
