Virginia Lee Vian, 66, passed away Friday, Jan. 25 in Palo Alto, CA due to an extended illness.

She was born on March 9, 1941 in Quinten, Oklahoma and was a resident of Escalon for 60 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved gardening, the outdoors, and most of all her family.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary Vian of Escalon; her children, Russell Vian of Oakdale, Gary Vian and his wife Nellie of Flagstaff, Arizona; grandchildren, Jenessa, Tyler and Jennifer Vian of Oakdale, Matthew Vian (United States Marine Corps) of Oklahoma, Stephanie, Nicole and Michelle Vian of Flagstaff, AZ; two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin St., Escalon. Graveside services will be on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 11:30 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.
