February 3, 1930 – February 13, 2015

Roberta Ruth League Byrd was born to Byron and Winifred League in Berkley, CA, February 3, 1930.

She transitioned into eternal rest on February 13, 2015 at her home in Escalon, CA. She had just celebrated her 85th birthday with family members.

Roberta is survived by her four children; Michael Byrd of San Francisco, CA, Kathleen Byrd of Escalon, CA, Richard Byrd of Westminster, CA, and Kelly (Diane) Byrd of Oakdale, CA. Roberta is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her two brothers, Ronald (Jan) League of Bakersfield, CA and David (Carol) League of Glendale, AZ.

Roberta was an alumnus of Escalon High School Class of 1948. She married W. Raymond Byrd in 1951.

Roberta was very active in service at her home church of Escalon First Assembly of God (now Trinity Church) where her father, Rev. A. Byron League pastored from 1942 to1948.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation between 1pm and 5pm on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin Street in Escalon. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10am at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 E. River Road, Escalon.
