NAOMI RUTH LUCAS SPERRY
Went to be with Jesus on March 22, 2015 in Oakdale, CA.  She was born December 26, 1934 in Walter, Oklahoma to Walter Lee Lucas and Audie Pamelia Wilson.  She spent her young life traveling between Arizona and New Mexico with her family to different farms where they picked a variety of crops.  Her father loved to travel and was always on the move to a different location for work. 
She met her husband, Albert Sperry when they worked at Big Boy Barbecue factory in Burbank, CA together.  They married in 1959 in Fallon, NV and moved to Oakdale, CA. 
She worked at Oakdale Poultry and then at Hershey’s, where she retired after 30 years of employment.
They purchased a ranch on Victory Ave. in 1969, which was their pride and joy.  The front pasture was planted with a variety of trees and decorated with many animal statues which was fondly called “the park”.  The property was meticulously attended and they enjoyed raising and harvesting pecans and working on wood projects. 
Naomi was a strong, independent spirit who would not turn away from any task, even as age began to take her strength.  She was young at heart and relished her time getting on the floor and playing with the children as long as she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Carl Sperry (2005); her sisters, Eunice Lorene Lucas Scott (1995), and Audie Inez Lucas Bolinger (1998) and her brother, Marion Douglas Lucas (2014).
She is survived by her brothers, James Louis “J. L.” Lucas and Lawrence Dean Lucas; her nephew, Clifton Bush, her daughter Linda Riley, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 30 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at Deegan Funeral Home in Escalon, CA.
Graveside services will be held Monday, March 30 at 2 pm at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon, CA.
