Jan. 8, 1951 – May 9, 2024

Kevin Brooke Cordray passed away peacefully at his home in Escalon on May 9, 2024, at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 8, 1951 in Modesto, California to parents, Theron Winfred Cordray and Norma Nadine Cordray, who have since passed. Kevin was a resident of Escalon for 17 years. Before that, he explored many places for work including Chevron Chemical Plant in Pasco, WA, The Bay Area Rapid Transit System in California, Metro in Washington DC, Nambe Dam in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and WestMark in Ceres, CA.

Kevin was a very loving person. He cared deeply for his family and his friends. He loved to tell stories; he had lots of them to tell! He was highly intelligent, seemed to know a little about everything. Due to having three daughters, Kevin was constantly kept on his toes. Kevin loved bass fishing, often spending long days on the water in his boat with his son-in-law Roger. He also loved lottery tickets, the thrill of scratching them always put a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Diane (Morrill) Cordray; children, Jaime Cordray of Riverbank, Glenda Cooper of Escalon, and Shannon Madrid of Riverbank; grandchildren, Brandon Flores of Modesto, Dylan Flores of Modesto, Gavin Madrid of Clarksville, TN, and Sierra Madrid of Escalon; and great-granddaughter, Zoey Flores; nephews, Brian Cordray and Matt Cordray; as well as his brother, Keith Cordray and sister-in-law, Lana Cordray of Pasco, WA.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Cordray family. A graveside service will be held on May 29, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon. Memorial donations in his honor can be made to Noble Hospice and Palliative Care at 605 Standiford Ave., Ste. K, Modesto, CA 95350.
