JOSE CORREIA
passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family in Escalon on April 1, 2015 at the age of 80.  Jose was born on August 9th, 1934 in Faial, Azores to Jose and Izabel Correia.  Jose immigrated to this country with his family and made his home in Escalon in 1967.
  Jose served in the Portuguese Military before coming to the U.S.  When Jose came to the United States he was able to accomplish his dream of founding his own dairy.  Jose was a past president of the FES Hall in Oakdale, a past president of Our Lady of Fatima at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon and one of the founders of the Azores Band Hall in Escalon.  Above all else, Jose was a family man.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that will be deeply missed.
Jose leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Alexandrina Correia, his children: Maria Correia (Jorge Machado), Joe Correia (Lisa), and Sally Yates (Greg), his grandchildren: Krystal Waller (David), Angela Krasko, Anthony Correia , Michael Corriea (Amanda) and Isabella Medina, along with 6 great grandchildren and his siblings, Sister Maria Leontina Correia of Portugal and Arminda Dutra of Escalon. 
Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapels.  A rosary is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8th at 7 PM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Mass is scheduled for Thursday, April 9th at 10 AM also at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  A committal service will immediately follow mass at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jose’s name may be made to Community Hospice.
