Helen A. Silva passed away on June 11, 2015, in Modesto at the age of 89.  Helen was born on May 26, 1926, to Frank and Augusta Silva in Salida, California.  She has been a life-long resident of the Modesto and Escalon area.  Helen worked as a hair stylist for many years, including working on a cruise line enabling her to travel the world.  She later owned and operated her own business, Ginny’s Hair Salon, in Modesto for a number of years before retiring.  Helen was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Modesto.  Helen leaves behind her sister-in-law, Tillie Silva, her nieces and nephews: Ron Freitas (Nonine), Ernie Dosio (Betty), Charles Dosio (Donna), William Fritz, Lynn Galvin (Robert), Robert Silva and Lorraine McNulty (Pete) along with numerous great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Augusta Silva and her siblings: Manuel R. Silva, Art E. Silva, Joseph F. Silva, William Silva, Mary R. Freitas, Frances Dosio, Lucy Sargenti, Daniel Silva and Augusta Silva. The family wants to thank Marinela, Nanette, and Lito at Golden Age Homecare and Dr. Richard Heck for their exceptional care of Helen these past few years.Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapels.  A Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17th, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Escalon followed by a private graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Helen’s name to St. Luke’s Family Practice; 1700 McHenry Village Way, Ste. 2, Modesto, CA 95350.
