George D. Judd, 60, of Escalon passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 2, 2013.

He was born on Oct. 5, 1952 in Los Banos, CA and has lived in Escalon for the past 58 years.

For 38 years he was the co-owner of Escalon Body and Frame in Escalon.

His passions included cooking for his family and friends, restoring cars, traveling – especially to Santa Cruz, working around the house and yard, and he was an avid NASCAR fan and attended many races. He loved his Chihuahuas and will always be remembered as a loving husband, awesome dad and grandpa, and loving brother. As his 6-year old grandson Greyson said: “He was a good man.”

Survivors include his wife of 18 years Kathy Judd of Escalon; his children, April (Steve) Fite of El Dorado Hills, Justin Judd of Houston, TX, Sandy (Russell) Gudino of Modesto, George (Mari) Judd Jr. of Huntington Beach, Erica (Mike) Biagi of Escalon and Shannon LaMunyon of Escalon; his grandchildren, Sophia, Greyson, and Stella Fite, all of El Dorado Hills, Russell Jr., Baze and Olivia Gudino, all of Modesto, Joey Ratto of Escalon, Cheyenne Lacy of Hughson and Maddox Biagi of Escalon; his siblings, Robert (Grace) Judd of El Paso, TX, Betty Lial of Escalon, Angela Wegner of Jackson, Bill (Joyce) Dugo of Escalon, Mary (Jim) Wheeler of Escalon, Carla (Bob) Guzzino of Canyon Lake and Ann (Jim) Santini of Escalon; his mother-in-law Donna Hohenwarter of Escalon; and his brother-in-law Butch Hohenwarter of Utah.

Preceding him in death were his parents Herman Judd and Jean and Angelo Dugo; his father-in-law Robert Hohenwarter; and his siblings, Anna Lee Abernathy and William Judd.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel 1441 San Joaquin St., Escalon.

A church service will be held on Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 800 Sylvan Ave., Modesto.

Burial will be private.
