Catherine Rose (Matulich) Rocha, 83, died Wednesday, April 27 at her home.

Born in Hollister, she had lived in Escalon for 53 years. She worked for the family dairy as their bookkeeper for 45 years.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Our Lady of Fatima of Escalon, I.D.E.S. of Escalon, Brotherhood of St. Anthony, S.P.R.S.I., U.P.E.C. - past treasurer of C.P.S.C. of Stockton.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Anthony Rocha, Frank Rocha, Candace Rocha and Tricia Bonds, all of Escalon; sisters, Frances Lucich of Salinas, Eileen Compagno of Castroville and Marion Rizzuto of Laughlin, Nevada; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Rocha Jr. in 1994, and a daughter, Carolyn Rocha.

Visitation was held Sunday, May 1 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, with services on Monday, May 2 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Escalon.
